CRICOS Course Code: 120601K
DESCRIPTION

CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry is a nationally recognised trade qualification designed for learners seeking a career in the building and construction industry as a carpenter. The qualification provides students with the practical skills, technical knowledge and industry awareness required to work in residential and commercial construction environments.

The course covers a broad range of carpentry tasks including planning and organising work, reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, carrying out measurements and calculations, using carpentry tools and equipment, handling construction materials, constructing wall and ceiling frames, erecting roof trusses, installing flooring systems, windows and doors, constructing pitched roofs, external cladding, formwork, concreting and other associated carpentry activities.

Students will develop skills in safe work practices, risk management, workplace communication, sustainable work practices and construction calculations in line with current industry standards and workplace expectations. Training is delivered through a combination of classroom-based learning and practical hands-on activities within a simulated workshop environment designed to reflect real workplace conditions.

The qualification has been structured to support learners with little or no prior experience in carpentry and provides opportunities to progressively build foundational and advanced trade skills. Students are exposed to industry-relevant tools, equipment, materials and construction techniques to prepare them for employment outcomes in the construction sector.

The course also provides a pathway into higher level qualifications within the building and construction industry, including Certificate IV and Diploma level programs.
